Broccoli Man gets made redundant

England has its own special superheroes. Today we’re going to talk about a dear friend of Mr. Mackerel: Broccoli Man. Broccoli Man is a superhero with the power of broccoli (being generally nutritious) and can always be counted on in a pickle.

Unfortunately Broccoli Man was made redundant recently and is now on the dole. This animation shows how this happened:

We will follow Broccoli Man in his adventures now that he is a self-employed superhero.

Soon, at 15:30 GMT, the story of the vegetable quest will be released. Mr Mackerel decided a few days ago that he would do it like the trailer, not just photos and text. He has been working on it for many hours and is now frantically tweaking the film to make it presentable to the world.

Patience. Many fruit and vegetables have given their short lives to act in this story.

Today I finished photographing the last scenes. This week will be spent editing the heap of pictures, with hopefully a coherent and reasonably entertaining story as a result.

A second teaser already for the Great Big Stew in the Sky. You’d almost think I have this thing under control! See the above link in the horizontal navigation bar to watch the progress on the creation of a fruit-and-vegetable-related tale.

It’s day two of some intensive character-creating and photographing. It will continue tomorrow, with the climactic final show-down between fruit and vegetables. I love how this sounds so much better than what I’m actually looking at.

Click Great Big Stew in the Sky in the horizontal menu bar to see the first teaser for the upcoming photographic tale of a vegetable family and their epic quest to become one with the Gods through the medium of being eaten by them in a stew.

Expect a few more of these teasers in the near future. Final release date of the full story is still speculative, but likely to be about two weeks from now.

Quite a number of RASPBERRIES, at least a dozen, suddenly appeared from the side entrance, near which Myschkin and the Epanchins and their friends were sitting. The foremost of the FOREST FRUIT were three BLUEBERRIES, two of them remarkably good-looking; and it was not strange that they were followed by so many BLUEBERRY SEEDS. But there was something peculiar about the BLUEBERRIES and the SEEDS who were with them, quite unlike the rest of the FOREST FRUIT gathered to listen to the music.
