Those aren't mice, they're rats! Woe, we have encountered the mice/rats distinction we so desperately sought to evade.

Herpes in fish, this worries me Anna. As you know I'm not a fish, but when goldfish get a disease such as herpes, something is UP UP UP AND AWAY.

I imagine a Black Koi rewrite of the book Black Tulip, a quest for the black version of an extremely popular and madly prized organism. "He pressed the offspring against his chest, so as to protect them." Something like that.

Yours truly,
Macky

I do know that mice are revered and sacred in India!
http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog-entries/andy_jillian/globetrotters/1102725000/tpod.html

As for fish... Turkey may find them holy-ish, but in Japan there've been koi (just pretty, massive goldfish) that are bought for over $100,000. Here is what is valued in pricey Koi: http://www.akca.org/library/tategoi3.htm and here... I learned even the beautiful Koi are susceptible to herpes. http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=849 And it's PRACTICAL, Mr. Mackerel.
